Welcome to the official website of `Skills for Managing the Arts: Open Educational Resources and Experiential Learning in Support of Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment in the Arts and Creative Sector` project (SmART), which is implemented with the financial support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
This project is a joint initiative of 6 organizations from Bulgaria, Hungary, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya and Republic of South Africa. It is motivated by the belief that development of the target regions’ creative economies can contribute to youth job creation and the fight against youth poverty and exclusion.
The SmART project develops, tests and disseminates a model of an innovative training method based on experiential learning (learning by doing) and immersion into the real-world environment of arts management and social impact driven arts initiatives.
The project’s intended impact is to empower the youth sectors in the EU and the Africa regions to offer more and better quality training in arts management, arts marketing and creative entrepreneurship for youth outside formal education systems, thus boostering the target regions’ creative economies and maximizing their capacity for sustainable job creation and reduction of youth poverty and social exclusion.
Besides to provide information about the project and its activities, this website is designed to secure the access of all interested parties, youth workers and potential learners to the developed in the framework of the project outputs: (a) Open Educational Resources (training materials) “Managing the Arts and the Creative Sector”; (b) Inventories of Local Youth Culture and Art Resources of the partner countries in Africa; (c) Handbook in support of the provision of practice and actiuon based non-formal training and education in management and entrepreneurship in the arts and creative sectors.
All project partners believe in the efficiency of the peer-to-peer approach and therefore have established an opportunity for future enrichment and improvement of the outputs` content. All contributions are welcomed and valorized.
