Handbook of Youth Work approaches to foster and assist the cohesion and the achievement of valuable social impact in and through the arts

In terms of dynamic economic and technological progress, the world is in a state of social regression. More and more young people declare indifference of public affairs, withdraw their right for active citizenship and / or fall under the threat of social exclusion. Continuing this trend can have catastrophic consequences, and overcoming it requires the mobilization of all possible resources.

The arts and creative industries have a wealth of tools that can be effectively used to "save the lost generation". The resources and products of these industries stand close to young people, shape their interests and perceptions, their means of expression and provide personal development.

The SmART "Handbook of Youth Work approaches to foster and assist the cohesion and the achievement of valuable social impact in and through the arts" developed within the project offers a new insight into the existing resources of the artistic and creative industries that can be used by stakeholders to promote the activity of young people and their social inclusion. The handbook offers a set of ideas, inspirations and methodologies that can be effectively used to involve young people in activities in the creation and use of arts as a tool for motivating their personal, professional and civic growth.
